After 33 years in business, we’ve learned that people in property management move around a lot. Focus has witnessed the career paths of a great many people in property management. Often, someone will drop off our radar, only to reappear a short time later with a new title at a new company, just coming onboard. Several years later, that same person may move to another company as a partner, or perhaps even begin their own company.
Our clients grow, advance, and invite us along on their journeys, and we’re always thrilled to have them back in our lives. We feel the same about welcoming old friends back into our fold as we do about welcoming old employees back “home” to Focus. We know them. We’re friends. And people love working with friends.
Recently, we brought a new property management company on board, and were delighted to see an old friend listed as the head of maintenance. We knew him when he was just starting out! As we congratulated him on his promotion, he laughed. “The first thing I did was to hire Focus! I take you with me everywhere I go,” he said. “This is the third new client you’ve picked up because I’ve moved to a new company!”
We offered to do something nice for him in return. “You already do,” he said. “You make me look good because you do your job so well.”
